Hardwood by the Board Foot
Hardwood purchased by the board foot. Board footage will be obtained by random widths and lengths to get the board footage selected (we will use best judgment to ensure the boards are of adequate size as well as attempt to reach the board footage requested in as few boards as possible).
Abbreviations & Acronyms:
- 15/16", 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4 = Board thickness in inches. (15/16", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2")
- FAS/Select, #1C, #2C = Board grading. FAS/Select is the most clear with #1C allowing for knots and cracks and #2C allowing for a rustic appearance.
- S2S, S3S, SLR1E, & Rough Sawn = Surfaced 2 Sides (both faces skip planed); Surfaced 3 Sides (straight line rip 1 edge and skip planed on faces); straight line ripped 1 edge; rough sawn (no milling done outside of cutting the boards to size at the mill).
